September at MooD-ology: Legacy, Love & $100 Mini Sessions
September is all about legacy, love, and new opportunities. This month, I’m sharing a special legacy session, something for couples planning their big day, and a limited offer for anyone ready for new portraits.

LEGACY: THREE GENERATIONS OF MUSIC
Some photos document a moment. Others document a legacy.
Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph 17-year-old Jamie Hawkins, the next generation of an extraordinary musical family. Jamie is the son of producer, musical director and pastor Walter Jamie Hawkins, and grandson of legendary gospel artists Walter and Tramaine Hawkins.
What makes this story special is that Jamie isn’t simply connected to a musical legacy—he’s beginning to create one of his own.
Already producing music at a young age, he’s picking up the mantle while developing his own voice and direction. Photographing him gave me an opportunity to capture that transition: honoring where he comes from while documenting where he’s headed.
That’s one of the things I love most about portraiture. Years from now, these photographs won’t just show what Jamie looked like at 17. They’ll be part of the visual history of his journey.
